Kenny Rogers is 77. I met him in the spring of '77. He released Lucille in January, and was here to play the Surrey Inn one weekend. As manager of a limo company, the transfer from the airport to the hotel was set up free of charge. Kenny had very little money. The first big royalty cheque from record sales would arrive soon.

He told me things were looking up that Friday morning, due to his performance of "Lucille" on Johnny Carson the week before. His label, United Artists, informed him that over a million singles had sold since the appearance.

When I dropped him off at the hotel, his manager gave me an appreciative, and seemingly apologetic smile, as he shook my hand with a five-dollar bill.

Six years later, I picked Kenny up from his private jet, and reminded him about the transfer from the Surrey Inn years before, without revealing any of the details.

He seemed to remember, and insisted I have dinner with his mother back-stage at the Pacific Coliseum that evening. Kenny showed up two years later, with an even bigger jet, and was just as friendly. The only change in the man was that he wanted to play golf instead of tennis -- and the size of the tips.

THE GAMBLER

Hopefully, this will be the last time you will ever see a reference to this over-quoted song:

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run.

Is it time to book our profits and run? Or is this the bottom of the first in a nine-inning game?

WHAT WILL APRIL BRING?

Gold, and the big boards will continue to trend up in my opinion. If there is a small correction, it should only have a minimal effect on the buoyant junior miners. One thing is certain -- there is a raging momentum with a certain group of stocks that show up almost every week at CEO.CA.

The optimal way to make a profit in 2014/15 in the microcaps was to find a high-volume trading non-resource stock, and play it in and out for a nickel or two. You can still do that today in this junior mining bull, if that's your style.

The fact is that the "be right, and sit tight" portfolios are performing way better. It's not even fair to compare, as we have demonstrated for months here. As contributors, the more we put into CEO.CA, the more we get out of it. Yes, the universal law in this week's title is working.

TALKING OUR BOOKS: HOW TO PICK A 10-BAGGER

It's actually quite easy to pick a 10-bagger in the first inning, if you follow a certain set of rules. One of the best ways is to monitor the serial mine finders insider buying, as they position early, in one of their dormant shells.

They always seem to know when the market is hot for a certain commodity (lithium) and actually have to scramble to get deal No. 2 (and sometimes deal No. 3) together, based on the positive response from their initial success. Look no further than $LIX for proof of this.

The picking is easy. It's the waiting that is hard. I like to call it the "Lundin Effect." There have been many opportunities over the last 2 decades where investors would hold one of Lukas Lundin's shell companies for months to years with minimal activity.

Invariably, the week you capitulate and sell -- he announces a new structure that runs the stock up to crazy new levels.

I have slowly accumulated 3 stocks like this and have a 4th one on watch:

$JEM, $HPL, and $IDI

$PRS.H Prism Resources (added to BeckDex 40 today) may be the sleeper of the year. Australian expats Baxter and Moody, and their long-time successful Peruvian partners have generated over $4 billion in committed mining development, and construction.

If and when billionaire Guido del Castillo purchases the remaining 30% of $IDI Indico, Prism will immediately be in play. $PRS.H has traded a total of 321,742 shares this year at an average price of 0.065.

http://www.prismresourcesinc.com/about-us/board-of-directors

I added $CCY Catalyst Copper and $RST Rosita Mining late Tuesday morning to the BeckDex 40. Credit goes to a few of the usual suspects: @WorldofMining and @Tommy for CCY and @low-ball for RST.

https://mobile.twitter.com/peedeeheenee/status/712342734468718593?p=v

Selling CCY in early 2015 due to inactivity was a mistake. Fortunately, my re-entry penalty price with Takeover Kings Richard Warke and Frank Giustra is looking better already.

All of the Takeover Kings' stocks are doing well on our lists, except for $MCC -- Magor. Sir Terry Matthews -- historically, the most prolific of them all, is at the bottom of the group this week. So we wait.

THE BERGDEX

The market is slowly starting to realize that Robert Hirschberg's decades of experience is paying off once again.

Last week I asked Robert Hirschberg (Globe and Mail) if there were any other stocks he liked besides $LIX, $PGD and $NGZ, and this was his response on Twitter:

"I believe these stocks can do very well in the coming year. $BOL $CAP $EAM $GSH $LIX $NFR $NGZ $NX $PGM $SXR $UWE $WML $WPQ"

I will eventually add the BergDex to the BeckDex, and combine them all into the CEODEX Composite. Hopefully, this list will give us an idea how Robert turned $20K into $15 million during the last junior mining bull cycle:

From 2014/15 Lows:

BOL: 0.025 Up 67%
CAP: 0.02 Up 300%
EAM: 0.085 Up 183%
GSH: 0.095 Up 217%
LIX: 1.20 Up 243%
NFR: 0.08 Up 100%
NGZ: 0.05 Up 150%
NX: 0.07 Up 180%
PGM: 0.26 Up 271%
SXR: 0.02 Up 300%
UWE: 0.03 Up 100%

WML: 0.27 Up 700%
WPQ: 0.055 Up 120%

Knowing Robert, at least a couple of these are 10-plus baggers. Let's see who figures that out first.

THE TOBERDEX

@SotalyTober joined CEO.CA last October. He has a knack for picking bottoms as well as deteriorating tops. Many of his picks are good to lock in quick trades, or warning you of a free fall.

One of his best performing "heads-up" posts on $ICM Iconic Minerals (added to BeckDex today) came on December 9. From December 8 to March 22, ICM had a maximum percentage exposure gain of 417%, and closed the week up 383%.

Many posters were observing the oversold conditions (including Tober) on $PTM Platinum Group Metals, back in January. It was this type of decisive post on February 16, that caught my eye:

"@SotalyTober: $PTM - just my opinion...after many months in an obvious oversold condition, $PTM has broken its power down channel and figures to continue to improve. The volume portion of the chart (weekly) clearly shows that the "Non-Believers" have exited the stock and new buying interest is having a positive impact. There is slight resistance at around $3.00 and the more significant test will come at the $5.50 level. - ST"

Only 0.70 to go:
February 12th Close: $1.58
March 24th Close: $4.80
