Education Resources, Inc. is pleased to offer courses that neonatal therapists may apply toward the Neonatal Therapy National Certification Board (NTNCB)'s new Neonatal Therapy Certification

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - November 15, 2016) - The Neonatal Therapy National Certification Board recently announced a new Neonatal Therapy Certification, with the goal of developing a body of certified neonatal therapists who work collaboratively to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based services to at-risk infants and their families in the NICU environment.

Occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists who fulfill all of the requirements of Neonatal Therapy Certification will earn the credentials of Certified Neonatal Therapist: CNT. These requirements include 3 years as a credentialed professional, 3500 hours of experience in the NICU, a minimum of 40 hours of education about NICU-specific content within the last 3 years, 40 hours of mentored experiences and a passing score on the Neonatal Therapy National Certification Examination. Certification is valid for 5 years from the date of certification.

The development of the NTNCB was initiated by the National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT) in 2014. The NTNCB consists of a multi-disciplinary team that is dedicated to excellence in neonatal therapy. More than 2 years ago, NTNCB embarked on a journey to develop standards for neonatal therapy certification. These standards ensure that the people to whom certification is issued have demonstrated a defined minimum level of knowledge and experience in order to deliver safe and effective therapy to high-risk newborns.

In March of 2016, Education Resources, Inc. and NANT announced a formal partnership to improve education for neonatal therapists. Providing over 350 live courses per year, with an ever-growing number focused on neonatal-specific content, Education Resources Inc. has a reputation for providing quality, evidence-based continuing education (CEUs) presented by some of the best speakers in the neonatal space including Roberta Pineda, PhD, OTR/L, Lisa Kleinz, MA, SLP/L, Roberta Gatlin, PT, ScD, PCS, Beth McManus, PT, Erin Sundseth Ross, PhD, CCC-SLP, Tracilyn Urruela, PT.

Education Resources, Inc.'s neonatal therapy courses may be applied toward the 40-hour education requirement of the Neonatal Therapy Certification. Neonatal therapists may view a customized course listing and details, and register directly through Education Resources, Inc. Neonatal therapists are also invited to contact a therapist at Education Resources, Inc. directly for help with developing a professional development plan to fulfill the 40-hour education requirement.
