Thunder Bay, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - August 23, 2017) - Benton Resources Inc. (TSXV: BEX) ("Benton" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has received further results from the recently completed 14-hole diamond drill program at the Bedivere Gold Project located in northwestern Ontario. Highlights from the most recent results include 1.26 gpt (grams per tonne) Au (gold) over 18.4.0m (metres) including 6.59gpt Au over 2.7m and 8.9gpt Au over 1.9m in BED-17-005. The Company continues to be encouraged by these results which demonstrate that the gold-bearing system is completely open at depth and along strike and continues beyond hole BED-17-008 which was drilled approximately 1.1km southwest and along strike of hole BED-17-001.

President and CEO Stephen Stares stated, "We are excited about the future of this new discovery in Ontario as it is rare to find such a well-mineralized gold structure returning significant gold values at shallow depths and is wide open in all directions for expansion. Our team continues to work hard to prepare for the next phase of work which will include an Induce polarization (I.P.) geophysical survey to be followed by further diamond drilling."

Assay results from drilling received to date by the Company are summarized in the table below. The Company will continue to release results of the remaining drill holes as the assays are received and compiled.

Note: 1) widths are reported as core lengths, true widths are not yet known, 2) drill hole numbers followed by an asterisk "*" note holes previously reported on.

The core was split or cut in half with one half being stored for future reference and the other half tagged and sent to Activation Laboratories Ltd. in Thunder Bay, ON. The core samples were analyzed for gold using using fire assay with an atomic absorption finish. Samples with grades greater than 5gpt gold were completed with a gravimetric finish. Standards and blanks were inserted into the sample batches as part of the Company's QA/QC protocols.
