NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arup, the global design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce the addition of Moe Goudarzi, PE, LEED BD+C, HFDP to its New York office as Associate Principal. Moe brings broad experience in healthcare design to the firm, especially in developing specialized HVAC systems that utilize cutting-edge technologies to reduce energy consumption. His diverse skill set and experience will support Arup's ongoing mission to create flexible and resilient solutions for healthcare facilities.

Goudarzi joins Arup from Affiliated Engineers, where he was Project Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer. Previously, he was with SmithGroup JJR. Working with Banner Healthcare systems, he helped develop templates for energy efficiency and air quality control in health centers; his projects include Dignity Health at the St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center and the Scottsdale Outpatient Surgery Center in Arizona. Goudarzi is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE); the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Arup's healthcare portfolio includes the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Central Hospital project, as well as the Calgary Cancer Center in Canada and the Dublin Children's Hospital.
