VANCOUVER, May 12, 2020 /CNW/ - HealthSpace Data Systems Ltd. (the "Company" or "HealthSpace") (CSE: HS) (Frankfurt: 38H) (OTC: HDSLF) is pleased to announce it has begun working with Grant County Health Department in Washington to utilize the Company's HSCloud Suite platform for COVID-19 contact tracing. Grant County, an existing customer, reached out to the Company last week as they saw a growing need to automate their existing contact tracing efforts. The Company provided access to Grant County on May 11th and is providing use of the platform on a gratis basis in conjunction with their existing contract.

The Company continues to see widespread interest as agencies determine ways to expand their contact tracing. In recent weeks, the focus of these agencies has centered on increasing staffing in order to meet the contact tracing needs. That has exposed the lack of a central platform which those performing contact tracing, from volunteers to paid personnel working for the government, need in order to better track the results of contact tracing. HealthSpace continues to be one of the few platforms in the market dedicated to automating contact tracing and enabling public health departments to perform more efficient contact tracing, regardless of their staffing situation.

HealthSpace CEO, Silas Garrison commented "Contact tracing is a very laborious process which requires significant hours to perform adequately. We are pleased that these agencies are finding benefit and time savings by implementing an automated contact tracing approach. We aim to supplement, not replace, the human efforts of contact tracing and continue to be a force multiplier to public health agencies efforts across North America."

The Company also announces that on May 4 it had received a loan ("Loan") under the United States Small Business Administration ("SBA") Paycheck Protection Program ("PPP") pursuant to the recently adopted Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. HealthSpace has received a $153,587 unsecured PPP Loan. The two-year, SBA-administered PPP loan has an interest rate of 1.0% per annum, with principal and interest payments due on the first day of each month, with payments commencing on December 1, 2020. All or a portion of the Loan may be forgiven if the Company maintains its employment and compensation within certain parameters during the eight-week period following the loan origination date and the proceeds of the Loan are spent on payroll costs, rent or lease agreements dated before February 15, 2020 and utility payments arising under service agreements dated before February 15, 2020.
