TORONTO, Jan. 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Toronto organizing committee expects thousands to join the global action against hate and attend the Women's March on Washington solidarity rally on Saturday, January 21.
"A small group of ten women came together to have our voices heard and say clearly, that the kind of hate Donald Trump is spreading will not be tolerated," said Kavita Dogra, one of the Toronto march organizers. "The response has been overwhelming, and our numbers are growing by the hour. This is a clear sign that the movement is rebuilding and this march is only the beginning."
Organizers say that the recent US election campaign and the results have given hate and violence a new platform and a powerful leadership role. The ad hoc group of ten women organizers were drawn together to organize a peaceful march and rally with the aim of making local and international connections about the attacks on women and equity. The march, although organized by women only, is open to everyone regardless of their gender.

Janelle Brady, another member of the organizing committee and a graduate student at the University of Toronto said, "We are gathering to combat the rise in violence with a message of hope and solidarity. We refuse to be divided. January 21 will be a showing of our commitment to resist and continue to fight for justice."
Marchers will rally in solidarity with millions around the world.
