TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2016 /CNW/ - POW! Showcase's Supergirl soared to the top of Canadian specialty with its Season 2 premiere claiming the #1 spot with the highest-rated broadcast this fall (281,000 viewers Adults 25-54). With 536,700 (2+) viewers tuning in for the October 10 premiere, fan-favourite Supergirl was the most-watched program of the night, and is tracking to be the #1 series across specialty this fall in multiple demos.
In the next episode of Supergirl (Monday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on Showcase), an attack is made on the President (debut of guest star Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman), just as alien vs. human rights issues heat up in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO are assigned to protect the President and bring in the responsible party of the attack. While Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case, Kara (Benoist) searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (new series regular Chris Wood, The Vampire Diaries), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault.
