DENVER, CO, Oct. 18, 2016 /CNW/ - Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. (TSX: TCM) (OTCQX: TCPTF) ("Thompson Creek" or the "Company") today announced that the Company has commenced commissioning of major equipment and components of the Mount Milligan permanent secondary crushing circuit.  Routine testing and commissioning of all equipment and process circuits will continue over the next several weeks, with first feed through the secondary crusher expected by the end of October.

Jacques Perron, President and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson Creek, said, "We are pleased to have commenced commissioning of the Mount Milligan permanent secondary crushing circuit and look forward to our first feed later this month.  Total capital expenditures for the project are expected to be $50 - $55 million, which would be approximately $10 million below guidance."
