Vancouver, British Columbia – TheNewswire - Canada, November 5, 2019 – Global Cannabis Applications Corp. ("GCAC" or the "Company") (CSE: APP, FSE: 2FA, OTCQB: FUAPF), a leading developer of innovative data and AI technologies for the medical cannabis industry, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded ‘A.I of the Year’ at the 2019 Malta Medical Cannabiz Awards. GCAC was nominated and shortlisted as a finalist for two categories:

  • -A.I. of the Year 2019

    -Blockchain of the Year 2019

Representing GCAC at the annual award event was Hanan Gelbendorf, Chief Marketing Officer of GCAC, and Anastasjja Plotnikova, Chief Operating Officer of GCAC Europe.

“It is an honour to be awarded A.I. of the Year at the prestigious 2019 Malta Medical Cannbiz Awards,” said Brad Moore, CEO of GCAC. “We have spent considerable effort developing a medical cannabis data solution that includes AI, blockchain and other advanced technologies to facilitate a full data loop from growers to consumers to regulators. With so many unknowns about cannabis as a viable medical treatment, we look forward to 2020 and beyond to build and provide the largest data set of smart, accurate product -symptom treatments. Our recent joint ventures relationships with European & Israeli partners and our next steps to patent our ‘Pain to Strain’ model will provide unprecedented value to the industry and our shareholders.”

The prestigious Malta Medical Cannabiz Awards are part of the Medical Cannabiz World conference taking place on November 4 & 5, 2019 at the InterContinental, Malta. The award ceremonies take place

GCAC was awarded A.I. of the Year for its ‘Pain to Strain’ algorithmic intelligence-based consumer biometric feedback system. The system maps a wide range of biometric feedback and user inputs with batch by batch strain information, including active pharmaceutical ingredients pathways and growing data. It is designed to capture up to 76,000 data points for every gram of medical cannabis used by patients to determine product efficacy for symptom treatment on an averaged basis. The Paint to Strain model was built in partnership with Tel Aviv based Curve Tech. Curve Tech’s decision engine uses machine learning and predictive algorithms to build valuable insights in real-time.

The Medical Cannabiz World summit is a confluence of blockchain service providers meeting brands from the global medical cannabis industry as they create solutions to some of the barriers currently problematic for medical cannabis logistics across the globe. The inaugural edition of Medical Cannabiz World opened its doors to the high-growth medicinal cannabis sector, recently unlocked by the Maltese government’s commitment to legislation supporting this global industry.

Exhibitors included brands from across the fast-growing medcann industry, such as production, logistics, payment processing, KYC, legal, regulatory and more. These areas can benefit from a blockchain approach to everything from ‘seed to sale’. The Medical Cannabiz World summit was held during Malta Week when thousands of blockchain entrepreneurs are also on the island for the Malta AI & Blockchain Summit, also being held at the InterContinental later in November.
