@ExcelsiorA. Paul Gill @APaulGill very good thoughts on $SQM and the importance #Lithium will play in their profit mix on a go forward basis. My biggest investing positions in the lithium sector are in $GXY.AX$GALXF Galaxy Resources, $ORL$OROCF Orocobre, and $RRSSF$NMT.AX NeoMetals because they are in production or ramping up into commercial production, but I also like the development stage plays of $LAC$LACDF Lithium Americas Corp (because they are partnered with $SQM and they have the organoclays as secondary revenue stream), $NMX$NMKEF Nemaska and $CRE$CRECF Critical Elements. There are a few other companies that look interesting like $PLS.AX$PILBF Pilbara, $DJI$DJIFF Dajin Resources, $BCN$BCRMF Bacanora Minerals, $PE$PEMIF Pure Energy Minerals, and $FL$HLKMF Frontier Lithium. Yes, I'm followed $LMR Lomiko for a while and have traded it as a quality Graphite stock in the past, but didn't realize the exposure you had to Lithium until I just went and visited your websited. Very cool to get your perspective, and I wish you and your team all the best Paul.
@sihv@mike it should as it proofs once and for all that Lithium from clay is feasible. A fact that was long denied by Lithium experts, and first and foremost Mr. Lithium himself (aka Joe Lowry) $BCN$AIX
@mikeDiamond & Specialty Minerals Summary for April 11, 2017
2017-04-11 20:06 ET - Market Summary
by Will Purcell
Mark Hohnen and Peter Secker's Bacanora Minerals Ltd. ( $BCN ), down five cents to $1.45 on 201,000 shares, has landed a partner for its Sonora lithium project in Sonora, Mexico. Under the terms of the "strategic partnership" with Japan-based Hanwa Co. Ltd. -- all Howe Street deals, no matter haphazard they seem, are deemed strategic -- Bacanora will sell 12.33 million shares to Hanwa at $1.37 and Hanwa will buy most of, and perhaps all the lithium carbonate produced at Sonora.
Mr. Hohnen, Bacanora's chairman, says the partnership is "transformational" for his company as it gives it an excellent platform with which to raise the rest of the cash. The delayed feasibility study, now expected in late summer, will reveal how big a lift the investment and offtake arrangement provide, but the $240-million (U.S.) capital cost laid out in a 2016 prefeasibility study for an initial development at Sonora suggests the company will need a bigger platform to lift itself into production.
@sihv@EvenPrime thanks for all the effort you are putting into this. Really enjoying it despite being down in the 60s to 70s range, but confident my time will come! @Mimibegalo My $BCN has done well but will even do much better come the DFS in Q2/Q3. $PE is still lagging but PEA is (still....) immenent. Could be the company maker... $NTY is my "dark horse". Could explode but could also be a complete dud. Time will tell.. #stockpickingcontest
@sihv@EvenPrime Nice idea. So here I go.
Sitting in 84 place :(. My investments are 100% Lithium as I fully believe that Lithium will rise in the coming years (my real life investments are also mainly Lithium). My picks:
$BCN +50%. Was really low at the start of the year and 2017 should be "the" year for $BCN. However, the recent offtake agreement has not been taken all that well by the market. Financing of the mine and plant will be key. $BCN is a great investment. But not clear if it will have its big run in 2017. Could be 2018 and even as late as 2019. But it will come.
$PE -2%. Nevada Lithium story. They were, however, one of the first in there and are pursuing new Lithium brine technologies, which are very much needed to keep brine on par with hard rock. Also one of the few with actual water rights, a significant factor in Nevada. Their land area in Nevada was pretty large but did not seem large enough to give a real economically viable project. Their purchase of the Cypress areas did help a bit but not enough. But the recent deal with $LIX sounds like that could be the company maker. If they manage to come out with a decent PEA this year (PEA is already late by about a year now) we could see a great rise on this one.
$NTY -27%. This is my "dark horse" one could also call it a "long shot". They found some good grades of Lithium last year but most likely the amount of Lithium on their lands is not enough to make it an economically viable project. But they are drilling in fall of this year and if the find good widths a JV with their neighbors could result in a very interesting project. Very high grade Lithium dykes, on the surface, and with tantalum. Neighbor lands have (historically) proven resources of 3.8Mt@1.24%, 4.1Mt@1.46%, 2.4Mt"1.54%, and 2.6Mt@1.4%. $NTY has found 6 dykes so far on their lands with very good grades (upto 4%, in channel sampling). If drilling finds some nice widths this could fly!
