@nicholaslepanOil prices fell on Thursday after official data showed U.S. crude and gasoline stockpiles rose sharply, although signs that OPEC and other producers are holding the line on output cuts are helping support prices. @nicholaslepanU.S. Republicans today repealed a securities disclosure rule aimed at curbing corruption at energy and mining companies and voted to ax emissions limits on drilling operations, part of a push to remove Obama-era regulations on extractive industries. In a 52-47 vote, the Republican-controlled Senate approved a resolution to eradicate a rule requiring companies such as Exxon Mobil and Chevron Corp to publicly state taxes and other fees paid to foreign governments. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-congress-regulations-idUSKBN15I1JF#energy

@JnanaNice pop today of Alterra, I believes these kind of deep holes could be significant for our #energy future "Hole IDDP2 was completed at a record depth of 4,650 meters. Initial well readings (427°C temperature, 340 bars pressure) indicate supercritical conditions at the base of the well, comprising significantly higher energy content versus conventional high-temperature geothermal" @newswire/alterra-power-announces-completion-of-iceland-deep$MGMXF$AXY
@nicholaslepanEgypt this year has seen a slate of reforms that saw the country open up its mining concessions and floating its currency, next up appears to be attracting oil explorers and investment in light of the recent discovery of ENI's giant Zohr gas discovery. BP, which has been present in Egypt for half a century, last year bought a 10 percent stake in Zohr from ENI. It has also been actively snapping up license blocks in Egypt's recent exploration rounds. #Egypt#oil#energyhttp://www.reuters.com/article/us-edison-egypt-gas-idUSKBN15T2F3

@Xriva#Energy#Solar FYI - Saw nice piece by Motley Fool, which said aging American infrastructure includes aging hydro electric dams - most of which exceed their estimated 50 year life spans. MF saw that as a positive for solar/battery farms. As their cost is so much lower these days, and their build time is so much shorter than rebuilding a hydro-electric dam. I agree and think that only adds to the game-changing edge that battery storage as given #Solar.
