@Allan Listening to talking heads on CNBC talk about the possibility of a rate hike in June based on the comments in the Fed meeting in April. None of them seem to be able to put things into context. Prior to April, the Fed had been selling the idea that they are data dependent and also want to normalize rates. Yet in April they had already hit the data points they said they were looking for in order to raise rates more. Fast forward to today and now I see stock investors are selling US stocks in fear of a rate hike and the USD is trading like the Fed will raise rates. Yet all that has happened since April is those data points have gotten weaker.

@Allan We will see who auntie Janet Yellen cares more about stock investors or USD bulls, my bet is she will do nothing to upset the stock market. Just a hint of the chance Fed may raise and stocks have a little fit. I would sell US stocks because they are way overvalued based on PE multiples and the earnings growth is getting pretty close to zero. I would sell USD because I don't see anyway the FED raises rates this year.

@Allan I'm glad I started this public room. Now anybody can find my stuff, and I'm not spending as much time in the main room. One of the main reasons I've enjoyed online chats in the past is it gives me a chance to keep track of my thoughts. This room is perfect for that. And this way, only those that are interested in my stuff have to read it.

@MiningBookGuy @allan - I agree! It's really cool to look back at thoughts months (or maybe even years) later. And having a room like this makes it much easier to track, and others can contribute too :)

@Allan yup, way better for me. I was wasting to much time on the main index. Getting more focused. Stoked about some content I'm working on.

@Allan Only 11 horses entered for the Preakness, the way Nyquist won the Kentucky Derby must have scared a few away. I'm going right back to my longshot pick Lani from the Kentucky Derby. He got left horribly at the gate then had to go way wide the entire way and was still getting closer down the stretch. He didn't get to show his best, and if Nyquist has a bit of an off day and Lani comes up with his best could get it done. Nyquist will be hard to beat.

@Allan Just read that article in Bloomberg discussing how Rio recovering a big stone from the Diavik mine of almost 200 carats was a fluke and that they shouldn't be there. Not sure I would be bragging about that, it is their processing that is the reason, not whether or not the big stones should be there. They have been crushing them.

@ekim A fluke or just the macro curve not having a big enough sample. A ten plus years of production is a big sample. If they have been crushing them...oops. If it isn't a fluke gahcho might have some added excitement at commercial startup.

@Allan They like many diamond mining companies run the numbers and take the loss on the biggest stones. Basing their entire decisions on the numbers regardless of the diamond distribution curve and mineral chemistry suggesting the frequency of big stones. They are run by bean counters not diamond guys and can't understand the chemistry and curves.

@Allan I got a little chuckle on the main board tonight. A couple of the biggest complainers involved in the shadow group setting the code of conduct are doing exactly what they don't want others doing. Going personal and dominating the chat.

@MiningBookGuy it's a weird night...otto caused this ruckus and he never even posts here

@Rana Lol main board is going nuts

@Allan yeah, notice the code of conduct is subjective, when the framers of it can step over the line and get away with it kind of makes it worth less.

@Allan rana, not of my doing this time. I've been following the rules. Some of the ones who wanted the rules already breaking them.

@MiningBookGuy @allan - if it's any consolation to you, it just reinforces how good of an idea it was to create your own room. and then i followed your lead, and created my own. i like it better this way

@Rana Yeah thanks guys i really liked this idea of having these personal rooms

@Allan I prefered it the old way.

@MiningBookGuy @allan - well, when you say "old way", in my mind, that goes back to spring/summer 2015. those were the "good ol' days", and i didn't even post then. at that time, you were a force here.

@Allan I'm a free speech kind of guy and don't like seeing small groups run things. As they say, absolute power absolutely corrupts. :-) They wanted all these rules and they can't live up to them. So awesome.

@MiningBookGuy but as the site grew, those types of conversations didn't fit in as well. i think these smaller rooms are a natural evolution. but someone had to start it, and it's good it was you

@Allan it's all good. I can play by the rules, just need to know what they are.

@MiningBookGuy @allan - i agree with that. and really, the change in culture wasn't any one person's fault. but definitely, the pumping and random stuff got out of hand over the last month or two (it was weird..like it creeped up on everybody).

@Allan I'm also no fan of control freaks wanting to control how people in an open forum post.

@MiningBookGuy the smaller the room, the less anyone cares about rules. i think the sweet spot is anywhere from the current size of this room (i see "5 online" right now), to maybe ~50 people or so. But once we get into 100 or 200+, that's when people start talking about control & stuff

@MiningBookGuy anyway, i'm not trying to justify the way the rules started coming into place. i'm just trying to emphasize that going off and starting your room was a great idea. and that when i first lurked on ceo.ca, you were one of the best people to follow. so it kind of comes full circle that way :)

@Allan I enjoy this format, I like not getting distracted so much. I don't think people really believed me when I said that this place really for me is about working out my thoughts.

@ekim @allan I've never understood why anyone would embed the chat stream as a widget on their websites...yourself included. People swear and all...and how would you like someone watching that stream on your website when someone calls @allan a jackazz. Of course I wouldn't do that..but just proving a point. You should see if you could at least widget over to this chat session instead of the main index. That would make a whole lot more sense and this session has your stamp on it already. Nobody should be personally attacking you here either.

@ekim Not sure if the coders have coded that yet. Might be a feedback request.

@Allan I have the code, but for some reason I'm having problems in the backend. Sometimes CRMs drive me nuts and I would just rather do it in HTML.

@ekim What happened to $TGX? building a ruby mine in greenland is not as smooth as building a quebec diamond mine?

@ekim This is from SH - (third party) $TGX - "Thank you for your email, and we understand your concern for the drop in the share price. As is stands, there has been some pressure from European sellers and unfortunately all we can do is roll with this and take it for the time being. The fundamentals of the project haven’t changed, we are currently in discussions with groups for operational funding and due diligence is ongoing. Everything is still going on behind the scenes and we’re on track for production this year. We appreciate your continued support and please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions. " Seems to be a couple of red flags in the statement.
