@Brent_Cook I have not heard from RRI on drilling his projects yet. Would want to visit before I buy in tho.

@tommy I heard $RRi was maybe going to keep its new Sonora property to itself

@JKaiser Eric, those nickel warrants have a five year term. According to Jabba the Warrant Hutt a rational speculator will not eliminate a free lunch by exercising warrants before they are due unless the stock has been sold short and the price ended up much higher.

@HRA-Coffin He's planning to drill Cecelia, which he was after for years, and some other one he's still working on. I know Cecelia, and am curious about whatever his theory is. PRG worked on it and came away feeling kind of "meh" about it as a prospect. $RRI

@tommy There anything more to look at in Northern Europe? Other than $AU? You guys like Barsele?

@JKaiser Finland would be a nice new region to focus on, but what is the risk that Putin annexes the Baltic States and turns that region into a mess?

@HRA-Coffin Last year's do John, though Mark told me the other day a few have been exercised in the past week, to his surprise. The ones he wants/hopes to see exercised are the 10MM or so in 12 and 5 cent ones, mainly 12, that die next month.

@Brent_Cook I understand Agnico is having success at Barsele but don't know the details. When I visited years ago is was a smallish broken intrusive. Since then they seem to have expanded to depth.

@JMNorthShore AEM appear to like Barsele but I am not sure why I looked at the gold prospect but they may be more interested in the VMS potential. I did visit Mawson last year.

@tommy Mawson said they have some new targets in Sweden outside of the park. Follow $MAW?

@HRA-Coffin What did you think of Mawson Joe? I looked at it 2-3 years ago but not recently.

@JKaiser I don't know what the distribution of the five year warrants was, but a truly rational speculator would exercise half the position so that the upside of the free lunch is not comprised by dilution. If Mark's scout drilling program can confirm that those EM targets deserve focused drilling the market will respond. $ADZ

@JMNorthShore Did visit Mawson late last year, it was very cold and not a lot of outcrop. There is definitely coarse grained gold in outcrop and in core, I am just not sure how continuous it is. I do like the management team and technical fellows though.

@HRA-Coffin Mark's geophysicist went through some of the unfiltered targets with me at MIF and I liked what I saw. I think $ADZ has a real shot and enough targets to make the speculation worth while. We'll have to go out there when it gets warmer. And hit the wineries on the way there and the way back of course.

@JMNorthShore We would need to see some more continuity there in the area that is outside of the Naturo boundary before taking any kind of position in $MAW.

@HRA-Coffin It's a nice drive if you don't mind diving and there are lots of nice wineries in the south Okanagan. I came back with two cases the last time I visited.

@tommy Do you guys follow GT Gold $GTT? I don't know if well but they found some bonanza grades in the golden triangle. The juicy stuff we've seen with Erdene Aurion and now Córdoba.

@HRA-Coffin The Presentation when up on Beneath the Surface yesterday. He was being paranoid, as always, about Kinross. I think he gives majors too much credit. I doubt they will pay attention.

@Brent_Cook $GTT has some very interesting soil anomalies but I don't have the context yet. Recall CXO has kilometer sized soil anomalies that haven't worked so well yet. One has to understand where the soils were taken and where they came from, Down slope or what?

@HRA-Coffin It's a pretty hot looking anomaly. I have it on one of my screens and am waiting to see how it trades after the placement becomes tradable. It's a very strong looking target but I don't know if the underlying mineralization has any size or is narrow structures. I note that $CXO just picked up a project to the east of it that Adam thinks is part of a trend. He told me he had his eye on it for years but it was tied up with some major and unavailable. $GTT

@JKaiser $GTT has a new gold geochemical anomaly at Tatogga for which we can thank the imaginary phenomenon of global warming.

@HRA-Coffin I asked Kevin if they were "soil" anomalies or "scree" anomalies. He insisted there are developed soils there but its pretty high on the slopes...

@HRA-Coffin Hmm... Maybe Victoria first, though I think $SBB has the larger gain potential from here once the permitting is dealt with. There have to be at least 3-4 miners thinking of pulling the trigger on that one.

@tommy Appreciate that. Guys can we chat about what's going on in Newfoundland around $MOZ. U like any of the plays there?

@HRA-Coffin Agreed. I'm thinking in terms of timing only, as $VIT has cleared the permitting hurdles already.

@JMNorthShore Note that KAM was taken out prior to permit being in hand as I don't think permitting is an issue that the suitors are worried about in the #Yukon - it is more, in my opinion, will the grade pay for the lack of infrastructure.

@tommy Benton $BEX has a bonanza Discovery (early stage) in Ontario and a strong deal on a deposit in Newfoundland. Just saying.

@tommy As long as Allan Barry isn't appointed to the Government of Nunavut I see Back River becoming Nunavut's best goldmine. But I'm a web designer so don't ask me!

@Brent_Cook Joe makes a good point. Many juniors will point to some low grade mine in production as reason to promote their low grade marginal deposit. But you have to realize--those are built, capital sunk. I think that when the majors are now considering an acquisition they consider the capex. No one needs another Rainy River or Cote Lake.

@HRA-Coffin It's a pretty interesting looking play though most of it has no third dimension yet. I don't know how much scale potential the stuff in NF has yet - that has always been the problem in that region but with several companies digging up high grade you might be able to put together a set of satellite deposits this time if none of them reach stand alone size. That has worked, sort of, in the past in Newfoundland.

@JMNorthShore Remember US$1250 gold price and 15% internal rate of return with realistic capex and opex not PEA level

@JMNorthShore My comment above referred to what the gold majors are asking from their asset base

@HRA-Coffin I don't think $SBB will have a problem (or more problems I guess) getting permitted, ultimately. Don't know how long "ultimately" will be but I don't think that long. Sounds like those opposed were a minority and not really "locals".

@Brent_Cook What discount rate do the majors use, or cost of capital when considering an acquisition Joe?
0
click to invite
@JMNorthShore The non-technical Nunuvat Investment Review Board did not take the advice of the locals or the technical people and the Federal Gov't noticed that
2
click to invite
@HRA-Coffin That is one unknown, and a tricky one, with some high grade plays like the new stuff in NF. Unless one of those discoveries grows to at least, say, a million ounces there isn't likely to be a takeover endgame - not by a major at least. So you've got to consider the dilution involved in one of them bootstrapping a small deposit - and whether management has the skill set, which most explorers don't.
2
click to invite
@JMNorthShore Discount rates used by the sell side tends to be 5% but companies differ. We used 7% at Newmont when I was there. I fought against this but it is only now that they are using variable rates depending on jurisdiction. They also consider hurdle rates and paybacks especially for risky jurisdictions.
