We are starting an initiative to create awareness about Naked shorting, HFT algorithms, social media short attacks and spoofing. We can't do this alone so we are calling upon everyday investors to collaborate on the best approach to attack the matter at hand. We want to bring the fight to top levels of government and to IIROC's front door. We have watched good people, including family and friends lose money on investments that defy logic and sell on news. Even the companies that we are invested in are left baffled when they release fantastic news, only to watch their stock prices plummet.
The first order of duty will be to create awareness through articles, social media, advertising and interviews. We need to reach out to CEO's of companies affected by this manipulation as well as lawyers, journalists, and anybody who may add value to the cause. This will not be an easy task and it will require a lot of work, but until it is done retail will continue to get fleeced by institutional banks and HFT algorithms that hold the majority of power in Canadian stock markets. Some of the tactics used by these institutions include social media manipulation, spoofing and naked shorting in order to manipulate share prices at will. If nothing is done in regards to these manipulations the Canadian markets will continue to spiral out of control.
The average retail investor does not stand a chance against these institutions, given that they typically hold much smaller positions and have next to no influence on share prices. Phase two of my endeavor will be to gather as much evidence as possible in the form of: Screenshots of short manipulations(slander) on social media platforms, gathering evidence of spoofing, articles to support the argument, testimonials from companies directly affected and reaching out to people in a position that can help to create more awareness. After gathering as much information as possible, we will need to put it all together in a professional and articulated manner in order to be taken seriously.
The next step will be to start a petition and reach out to government officials that can push the narrative to the right branches of government. With enough signatures we can force their hand to take action. If done properly we will garner the attention of legal entities who may join us in our attempt to stop the criminal activities that control the Canadian markets on a daily basis.
