This is the second article from the Mining Catalyst series. In this article I will identify 3 upcoming catalysts of the somewhat lesser known resource companies.
Oklo Resources Ltd. – Drill Results Socaf Project $OKU.AX
This company was brought to my attention by @MiningBookGuy and @Nick. Oklo Resources Ltd. Is an ASX-listed gold exploration company with focus on Mali. The focus is on three targets:
Dandako, Socaf and Yanfolila project.
Recently they completed two drilling programs on the Socaf Project. Assays are pending and could be released any day now.
Historical trenching and drilling from 2007/2008 showed significant gold mineralization including:
• 29m at 1.27 g/t gold
• 8m at 4.1 g/t gold
• 8m at g/t gold
Drilling is very limited on this project so if the results are good this could be very interesting
Novo Resources Corp. – Preliminary Economic Assessment $NVO
Novo Resources Corp. is expected to release a PEA on their Beatons Creek in Australia. The Beatons has shallowly buried gold-bearing reefs.
In September 2015 they released a new resource estimate:
• Total Indicated 2,9 g/t Au 299,000 ounces
• Total Inferred 2,7 g/t Au 259,000 ounces
They will be using a selective mining method. No drilling or blasting is required. All near-surface material can easily be ripped and pushed with a bulldozer, as shown below.
Because of this selected mining method, initial capex is expected to be low and the project can be quickly moved into production.
Orex Minerals Inc. – Initial Resource Estimate Coneto Project $REX.V
Orex Minerals Inc. has 4 projects. 3 projects in Mexico and 1 project in Canada.
Orex Minerals Inc. Is expected to release an Initial Resource Estimate on their gold/silver project in Mexico. The Coneto project is a Joint Venture Co with Fresnillo PLC. Fresnillo earned 55% by spending $6 million dollars in exploration in the last 3 years.
A total of 71 holes and 21.398 of diamond drilling is completed on the project. This is the first resource estimate in Mexico for the company so considered a good catalyst.
