Willem Middelkoop (60), the founder of the Dutch-based Commodity Discovery Fund (CD Fund, AUM C$200mln+), has been an investor in (junior) mining companies for 20 years. He is one of the pioneers in ‘Discovery Investing’, whereby in a very early stage investments in an exploration company are being made, after the start of a significant discovery, and responsible for the impressive track record of his fund, with over 76 takeovers in it’s ‘discovery portfolio’ in the last 13 years. Willem has published eight books in eight different languages on financial and economic topics. Max Keiser called one of them, 'The Big Reset, an instant classic' and called him 'The oracle from Amsterdam'. In this 2014 book, Willem predicted a new Bretton Woods would be needed around 2020. The IMF agreed in 2021.
He is also a member of the OMFIF Advisory network, a London based thinktank. He lives in Switzerland, where he was born in 1962, and the Netherlands.>
