QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 24, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) is set to host Routes Americas 2019, the aviation industry's top international forum.

Over 1,000 aviation professionals representing some 80 airlines, 300 airports, and fifty tourist bureaus will gather in Québec City to plan and negotiate the future of air travel. Routes Americas is a leading event in the commercial aviation industry and an important forum for the evolution of air travel. This will be the first time the annual event is held in Canada.

As Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) President and CEO Gaëtan Gagné explained, "This is one of the aviation industry's biggest and most prestigious events. Hosting it will certainly help Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport position its air services. It's a unique opportunity to take a group of influential players from the global aviation industry and show them everything the Québec City region has to offer."

"I'd like to thank everyone who helped us book this major event. Routes Americas 2019 will position YQB as a world‑class airport capable of rivalling the best in the industry," he added

The 12th annual Routes Americas forum will be a chance for Canadian, American, and Latin American airport representatives to meet with the industry's top decision‑makers, allowing them to forge valuable relationships with some of the most influential aviation professionals in the world.

Steven Small, brand director of Routes said: "Quebec is a fascinating, historic city with a dynamic economy and exciting aviation opportunities supported by the growth plans of YQB. It is an ideal location for the first Canadian Routes Americas and we look forward to working with the highly professional team in Quebec."
