CHARLESTON, W.Va., Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Huntington Bank (NASDAQ: HBAN) today named Chad Prather president of its West Virginia region. Prather will continue to serve as the lead commercial banking executive and succeed Andy Paterno, who will retire at the end of 2017.

Paterno, who came out of retirement to lead Huntington and strengthen its presence across the state over the last five years, ends a distinguished 40-year career in financial services and insurance.

Prather, who joined Huntington in 2005, is a veteran financial services professional with 18 years of experience in business and commercial banking. As president of Huntington's West Virginia region, he will lead 250 Huntington colleagues who provide consumers and businesses with convenient access to full-service banking, investment management and insurance services through a network of 25 branches, 53 ATMs, telephone (800) 480-2265 and online banking.
Active in the community, Prather serves as chairman of the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce board, chair of the 2017 Morgantown United Way campaign, and a member of the Leadership West Virginia board and board of the Hott Brown Foundation. He previously served on the Morgantown Area Economic Partnership board and recently received the 2017 Community Leader Award from United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties.
Prather, his wife, and their daughter reside in Morgantown. He will continue to operate out of Morgantown and Huntington's regional headquarters in Charleston.
