@RanaSIMBA ENERGY ( $SMB ) and Canadian Overseas Petroleum Limited ( $XOP ) will be drilling for Billion Of barrels of #oil in Q4. $SMB will drill in Kenya with Essel group ME and $XOP will drill in Liberia with the giant Exxon Mobile $XOM
@GoldfingerWhile $CVX and $XOM are fantastically profitable companies with unique assets and businesses, at 26x and 22x forward earnings respectively their shares are not exactly bargains at current levels. #pricedforperfection
@nlepanBloomberg reports that the Canadian government will not grant extensions to exploration licenses as it prepares for consultations on the impact of an Artic Drilling moratorium. Companies such as Exxon, BP and other firms hold leases that expire in the next six years that are worth $6 billion. The Department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs did not specifically address whether extensions being granted despite Trudeau specifically stating that there would be not any extensions. However, a spokesperson for the department said that companies are free to ask and the Canadian government will take into account their concerns as they discuss the moratorium. In all this just creates a confusing and unclear future for the oil exploration licenses in the Artic. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-01-06/canada-rules-out-arctic-oil-drilling-extensions-for-exxon-and-bp?$XOM$BP
@Leon@anomalloy - to clarify, the Bloomberg article is about $XOM and the probability that other majors could have missed their revenues as well. Maybe its time to take some profits before $RDS-A comes with a surprise ;-)
@Blackstim$sei has been showing vol and run up to 7 from 4.5 today on no news. Careful on this one, I've been holding the bag on this for quite a while. They've been waiting on frack permit from Colombia for a while with no success for their JV with $XOM. If they get the frack permit, it could be 💥 time.
