ekimI was comparing $KDI's trading with $ACS yesterday. Both seem controlled by big $$'s in the background. Then I discovered that Patrick Evans is on the Board of $ACS as of this year too. That brings in Blusson to the that ring of influence too.
ekimConnect the dots $DDC Of the 5.4% investors who are pushing the company..one of the shareholders in that group is Patrick Evans ($MPV and $KDI ). Patrick Evans became a director of $ACS (archon minerals) in the middle of 2015. $ACS has a very, very vested interest in how $DDC proceeds with expansion over the next 10 years.
ekim@Sotaly$ACS is interesting and scary at the same time. It has a huge negative working capital because Blusson loans $$'s to the company whenever it needs money, so the company owes Blusson a good chunk of money. He has got his hands wrapped all around their assets.
@WorldofMiningSpotted at #Roundup diamond talk by Patrick Evans of $MPV and $KDI - Stu Blusson of $ACS, Brooke Clements & Robert Boyd of $PGD, Randy Turner of $IGO. Blusson and Turner are 2 of Canada's diamond mine finders
Mr. MagooHi @ekim... i see consolidation in the diamond industry. interesting to note that jim gowans (chairman of $ddc) was the ceo of de beers canada when patrick evans cut the deal to restart ghacho kue. patrick is also on the board of archon. maybe a three-way merger between $mpv, $acs and $ddc followed by the acquisition of $kdi once fs establishes value. Just speculating and dont want to share with the wider audience.
@ekimLac de gras is all over the map with ownership. Consolidation would be good. Nobody wants to touch Chidliak because it would start a bidding war on a barely touched, uncrowded diamond district. $PGD$MPV$DDC$KDI$ACS
@JamesKwantesA further twist: $MPV CEO Patrick Evans is also a director of Archon Minerals $ACS, which is run by Stu Blusson. Blusson is the Ekati co-discoverer (with Chuck Fipke) and owns the portion of Ekati -- about 11% -- that $DDC doesn't. Fipke sold his share of Ekati to Dominion for $67 million a few years back. Archon also owns about a third of Ekati's Buffer zone
@ekim@JamesKwantes I remember that now. He wasn't a director until a couple of years back. Blusson and $DDC 's current board/mgmt do not see eye to eye or shall I say dollar to dollar. Money talks. $ACS by definition is a Zombie company...except for the fact that it owns part of an asset that $DDC will be developing and has a director that loans money to it to keep it going until it gets a big payday.
@ekim@JamesKwantes@allan When reading the $MPVD news release about Patrick Evans...go back and read the news release earlier in the week by $ACS and $DDC. Patrick Evans is a non-executive director of $ACS and it is quite conceivable that he would have been in the same conversations with the likes of Stu Blusson and James Gowan on this deal that was announced. $ACS clearly references its board of directors in the news release. There are CA or NDA all over the diamond industry. If $DDC and $MPVD have one active...that could easily have triggered an immediate conflict. #diamonds
