CEO.CA members discuss high-risk penny stocks which can lose their entire value. Only risk what you can afford to lose.
anonymous“Oban Headed Higher; Investors Catching On” - That’s Dundee’s Ron Stewart with a BUY, Speculative Risk rating and $3.00 target (from $2.60) on Oban Mining Corporation $OBM Wednesday. “We believe that the trade volumes led the price and that near-term project catalysts including the Marban resource and continued drill results from Windfall Lake will continue to support a higher price.” Contact your Dundee rep for a copy of the report.
@drilltrackerOne thing I have learned by making and losing money of venture stocks. It is good to take at least some money off the table when you see a big pop. $OBM a good example. When you see a company go from $1.43 to $2.24 in about a week you can expect a correction. I sold out, put money in my pocket and may come back in as it has dropped 10% today. I try not to look back and say I wish I had of held. You never make money until you sell and you never lose money when you make money. In the case of $SMB...I have held (for all the right reasons...management and cash balance) since I bought into "a correction" in 2011. That has not gone so well.
stateside$KNX $.04 - I've followed this one for a while since it's between two million ounce deposits just north of the Cadillac break, Just announced a $.05 PP ($500,000) yesterday with $.08 warrants for only 12 months. They've done a ton of remodeling and think they've got this one figured out. Prior holes showed 4 meters of 80 g/t gold, 3 meters of 73 g/t gold and 4 meters of 40 g/t gold. Their East-West Property is adjacent to the 2 million ounce Marban deposit of Oban Mining $OBM who is currently drilling at Marban. Knick thinks this structure runs east onto their East-West project and therefore will be drilling the 300 meter gap and within the area of previous drilling (and going deeper). The Pres says drilling to start at the end of this month and an initial resource is scheduled for the fall. It seems they will promote this so a $.04 flyer seems like a good punt with gold back in favor. New Powerpoint at http://www.knick.ca/files/KNX_MAY_2016-English_Version.pdf
@Benedict@EvenPrime - Back in Jan I made 3 suggestions for the #stockpickingcontest$BCM, $MSV, $OBM - By the nature of this recent market move they represent a 100% perfect call. That doesn't make me a Guru. It makes me just plain lucky. That's what I mean by Imprinting. I am seasoned enough to know that is Unusual. 4 years of pain has been forgotten by many.
@stateside@Daniel - yes, an expanding resource at $OBM Marban and more drilling obviously benefits $KNX. $KNX should be drilling in a few weeks less than 500 meters from the boundary line to follow-up on historic drill holes of 4 meters of 80 g/t gold, 3 meters of 73 g/t gold and 4 meters of 39 g/t gold. Unlike most other hot plays that have run up 4-5 times on heavy volume as the drills get ready there is no money moving into $KNX which is just how I prefer it. The less hot money the better.
@statesideForgot to post this: http://www.comanusrising.com - In this episode of the Comanus Rising podcast we take a look back at the week in gold and the gold stocks and the Brexit effect. @Benedict#feedback Not to belabour the point but: (one of the reasons I didn't link the comment about $OSK actually adding to $BTR is because the $OBM - $OSK links are still not fixed so message linking is pointless in this otherwise nicely performing issue for the past 3 months = I gather no one else has really been participating ;) ...priorities?
@ExcelsiorInteresting - Would you consider $FF or $OBM incubators then, more so than Prospect Generators, and what ways do you distinguish between the two? Eventually if the properties are JV'd out for a percentage earn in, or sold, or spun out for cash/shares/NSR then that is what I've been reviewing. Other people are using the term "Mineral Bank" a great deal now, but that gets even more nebulous, as every company has a mineral bank of projects, so I generally steer clear of that label to avoid confusion. So many ways to slice up the pie....
@PamplonaTraderI think you have to keep in mind the crux of the business model. Prospect Generators are attractive in that they limit dilution to the shareholder by getting other people to spend on their portfolio of assets. $FF and $OBM have been incredibly dilutive in their efforts to aggregate assets.
@DanielAnd I agree with $FF and $OBM being dilutive, but I still think they will be successful. I prefer OBM to be honest, because I always liked their approach when they said "We will become a new mining powerhouse"
@Benedict@murat I guess I never responded on $obm and $osk connection.. I see that there are current postings on $obm ... $obm changed it's name to $osk a couple of months back, so all comments associated with $obm should be flowing into $osk. I looked today and noticed $obm was showing up on the home page. When I checked it , I notice there are current postings there. They should be flowing into $osk, otherwise there is a split discussion going on...
Moneta Porcupine $ME a favorite of @dirkdiggler and @CriticalInvestor. For the uninitiated, two of the sharpest guys on CEO.ca. Back in February I was banging the table on $VIT and $OBM, which were also trading at EV US$60m and sitting on multi-million ounce gold inventories. Here again, we have the opportunity to buy 4Moz of gold at under EV US$60m to potentially triple our money.
Timberline Resources $TBR$TLRS Over 1.2Moz of gold and with a market cap under US$6m. Waterton made a run at $TBR late last year but withdrew its offer, presumably because of metallurgy. $TBR just initiated a new metallurgical program for Talapoosa. If they can improve recoveries to 75-80%, they will probably get taken out. They also have an interesting portfolio of Nevada projects, which they can vend/option in a hot seller's market.
