@bullionaire @nlepan Good result of a GOP administration... Jobs staying, not being exported as in other western countries.

@bullionaire @nlepan US is wiser to move forward with electric cars not the traditional gasoline engine.. Tariffs should be applied on all countries that are deemed polluters...

@bullionaire How many MBAs are selling mutual funds or working in areas they are largely over qualified.. Just an example.. Same with accounting and law.

@bullionaire @nlepan Better for a man to be gainfully employed than to sit at home collecting an entitlement. Let China worry about an idle workforce while America becoming increasing employed..

@bullionaire @nlepan Don't agree with that in its entirety.. But I find it very interesting that so many believe immigration is the answer.. It WAS the answer, not anymore.. The USA may have lucked onto something with the GOP in terms of economic ideas. Canada seems to be following old school EU type of thinking.. Not going to work.. The USA is at least to me an experiment underway, lets see if it works out..

@bullionaire @Mick That is true, we see how that trend plays out.. Again, its why immigration isn't going to be the solution, if it was, the USA would be booming.. its not...

@bullionaire @nlepan I don't believe in all Trump, some of the ideas are interesting, but they have to be implemented. Anytime someone says Buy Canada or Buy USA.. I am all for that..

@Mick @bullionaire . I think Canada is a bit different - smaller population that is aging. No Canadians want to work at Timmy's so you have to bring people in and Gov wants bigger tax base.

@bullionaire @Mick I don't believe that is the case either.. Its the same all over the western world. Biggest headache is underemployment.. and thats not recognized in the numbers...

@bullionaire In any event, government will be required to be downsized across the western world, as the cost is unsustainable and residents will be required to take more of an active role in their lives.

@Mick @bullionaire - have you noticed who works at Timmy's - would you work there? and if its underemployment can you find me some diamond drill helpers?

@bullionaire Drilling comes and goes on large scale, so not really a career in that regard.. Depends on the pay and the cost of living as well. Point remains.

@bullionaire @mick oil comes and goes, so does mining.. If the skill is transferable thats great.. how much do they get paid versus how much does it cost to live in a camp..

@Mick @bullionaire a good driller can make a 100k working 6 months a year. A good drill foreman makes 700+/day

@bullionaire @mick Whats the cost to live there, and how much experience do the new guys make.. Whats the lowest wage that is paid on site.

@Mick @bullionaire camp costs are covered its the month off that gets expensive. entry level jobs are usually what we call swampers or fifth men - 200/day. they help the foreman by delivering parts, fuel core boxes putting out hoseline . inexperienced helpers are in the 19-21 range. drillers in the 25-30 range. Where the money is made is OT - at 12 hours per day you hit over time mid week so the rest is time and a half. And there is usually a bonus per foot/metre drilled.- some companies pay a 2 buck per foot bonus - helpers 50 cents/ft

@bullionaire @rocketred I don't think the conservative mantra that succeeded in the USA will do so in Canada, but politics will change.. Its more about the people, much less about those running the government... As it should be.

@bullionaire Canada, to me is headed down the wrong path, if the goal is to reinvigorate the economy... Similar to what was undertaken in the USA during the DEMS run

@bullionaire I think politicians need to dramatically reduce taxation, then the direction of the country would be decided by the people.. Too much intervention and aid dependency has been created over time.
