@newstracker $CNL presentation passionately outlining a consolidation for Buritica social license. $CNL helping local miners to improve labor and mining standards.  Gold mining does not mean illegal mining, they work everyday to build sustain-ably. Really hammering home it's plan for social and community development, signed a deal with UbC to assess the environmental impacts. #ColombiaGold2016.

@newstracker Because of the quality of the $CNL deposit, it has attracted illegal mining, the government intervened. 9000 illegal miners moved into the area, causes massive disruption, national authorities to stop illegal mining. Intervention started in April ended in October. Buritica's intervention became a model, carefully planned. Not one shot was fired. $CNL #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Hey Guys, I thought I would formally introduce myself as I will be working with @Tommy full time in the future. My name is Nicholas LePan and I have been working with Stockwatch for the past 8 years as the sales/marketing guy, and sometimes news release editor. I have known Tommy for years now and am looking forward to delivering the significant news on business and the venture each day. If there are any ideas or topics you would like to me to share, feel free to ask me. Currently, I am in Colombia for the Gold Symposium and will be visiting Cordoba's $CDB San Matias project and hopefully (working on the details) to visit Red Eagles's $R San Ramon Gold Project. So keep an eye out for the updates during the week. All the best. Nick #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker La calosa was dangerously close to an area where mining was not welcome. Anglo wanted open pit but little precedent for that in Colombia. We have to work out what areas are for open pit, instead it looks like underground, high grade may be the way to go, but the govt needs to make this clear so explorers can properly design their exploration programs. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Ok, guys, that is all for today from the Colombia Gold Symposium 2016 in Medellin. Tomorrow more companies will be presenting such as Cordoba Minerals $CDB and $RYR. Also there are some pretty interesting lectures such as hiring former guerilla workers for mines. I will try to get down as much as possible. Also, CEO.CA will be visiting Cordoba Minerals San Matias Project on Thursday and Red Eagle on Friday. Keep an eye out. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Some insight from an old hand who saw the boom from 2000 to 2014 boom, a lot of people came down to Columbia to set up lifestyle companies, ie they would rarely visit their property and just party in Medellin. Says that was a learning experience and there is a professional network in place now, so they know who is good to work with and who to avoid. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Further insight from old hand, the Colombia mining associations were beholden to the coal interests and did not understand exploration and there fore the process to get permission was a pain in the ass and lengthy. But yesterday, representatives of the mining association spoke of changing policy to suit exploration work, big change and a positive sign for the exploration industry. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker San Matias is located at Sea Level, on the caribean planes, have the benefit of western cretacious cordillera, but withtout the problems of the cordillera. Its all about location, location, adjacent to a large operating open pit. They are in an area that has a strong mining culture. There is a history of hardrock and alluvial mining in the area. #ColombiaGold2016 $CBD

@newstracker $CDB part of the prolific Mid-Cauca Belt, is 300 to 400 kilometre long. The geology is not fully understood but it looks like they are in the volcanic cretaceous. This project is moving ahead because of its location, close to Cartagena port. Infrastructure is amazing, has access to powers and roads, an evolving strategic area for Colombia. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Hector Vargas of $RYR presenting on the Golondrina project at #ColombiaGold2016, the area is very underexplored, it is a prolific belt, made up of oceanic base rock, in the intervention know as the "wide rock". This first phase of the project, they carried out an investigation to identify the communities needs, and they identified drinking water. Hector worked in the area in the 90s, he worked with AngloGold Ashanti. He nows the area is underexplored.

They want to verify the lower structures that have the same grading as those above. $RYR Working on a deed across from La Esmeralda at the bottom of the valley. The area is covered by volcanic ash. Drilling is currently underway. Waiting for results. Core samples, Quartz veins up to 30cm, free gold on native bismuth. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker The ELN is another rebel element that is not included in the Peace agreement. Peace with FARC will bring out other criminal elements. Communities will have more say and power to demand things from capitalist ventures. Taxes will increase and there will be stricter environmental regulations. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Communities need to become the defenders of a mining project in the future. Once FARC signs peace agreement they will become part of the electoral system in areas and their views will live on. Companies need to recognize once FARC is at peace does not mean their ideology that does not like foreign Capital, will be. #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker @Fischlaender in regards to Bismuth and potential economic grades of gold, I spoke with Tim Coughlin and he put plainly that...high bismuth equals hi gold but how high is anyone's guess but Bismuth, in these types of systems shares a spatial relationship with gold. So looks like they need to get some results from the lab. $RYR #ColombiaGold2016

@newstracker Just some commentary and thoughts that I caught while visiting $CDB on #ColombiaGold2016. The area has a very strong mining culture but the locals have had a tough and hard life. Social programs are good for this area because some of these areas have never had any government intervention or influence. There is a lot of illegal/artisinal mining in the area, but the company cannot stop them but they can show them how to reduce their risks and implement environmentally safer mining practices. The company does not want to shut down local illegal miners, they are not the government, but Cordoba does expect the government to uphold the company's rights. Social programs are a massive part of any mining effort in Colombia and have to be addressed from the beginning and bringing in the community at an early stage. If the company were to move forward towards production the local residents will have to be relocated, a major undertaking that needs to be undertaken in a socially responsible way, but will be a process that will take time but has to be addressed before any talk of building a mine. I will have more commentary as I go through my notes. http://cdn.ceo.ca/1c36b0p-IMG_20161117_1048227.jpg+
