@LeonHere is what one of the most outspoken fiscal responsibility champions in the House GOP had to say: "There is not a chance that a significant #infrastructure stimulus will pass! What will be coming soon, however, is the mother of all debt ceiling crisis and eruption of beltway dysfunction that will finally demolish the notion that #Trump is good for the #economy and the stock market." #politicshttps://dailyreckoning.com/crash-will-violent/
@Leon#WikiLeaks exposes CIA involvement in the 2012 French presidential election. The espionage orders published today are classified and restricted to U.S.eyes only due to "Friends-on-Friends sensitivities". It also places weight on obtaining the candidates attitudes to the EU's economic crisis, centering around their position on the still ongoing Greek debt crisis; the role of France and Germany in it and the vulnerability of government and banks to a Greek default and specific "proposals and recommendations" to deal with "the euro-zone crisis". How wonderful if good friends look after you in difficult times ;-) #gold#politics#economywww.zerohedge.com/news/2017-02-16/wikileaks-exposes-cia-involvement-french-2012-presidential-election
@Leon@bluesteele - nothing wrong with that, though its a philosophical discussion as one can see from labour statistics. It's easier said than done to bring unemployed back to work. One reason is they need an "up-date" and further education to get things done in the right way. Another major factor is they got lazy and have difficulties to integrate themself well motivated into the labour process. This whole idea of bringing jobs back to the U.S. and the American people misses some important issues like lack of education, labour skills, factory sites, building / production costs, technological progress, global supply chain, economic decline, impacts on inflation, disposable personal income etc, just to name a few #politics#economy
@MiningBookGuy@Allan - there have been repeated request for #politics to be moved to its own room. yes, politics 'sometimes' related to stocks. But sooooo many times it has messed up 'real stock talk' in here. You have been a contributor to this, but not the only one by any means.
@Excelsior@MiningBookGuy - Thanks man - It just helps to tag posts to right rooms so that it is easier to dig a deep well on certain subject. For example if people want to see all the Metals Investor Forum posts - then go to #MIF. If people like the #Korelin Economcs report, then go there. If contributors want to discuss #Politics#Jokes#Trump or whatever they want, then there are rooms for that not clogging up the #Index
There are also rooms like #BestOfCEO that may be worth returning to once in a while.
BTW - for anyone that wants to create a new room it is as simple as using the "#" or "$" as they both achieve the exact same thing other than their color. Personally I like using the # for a topic like #WhereTheHeckIsNewton and the $ for stocks like $IPT (because if you hover your mouse over a $BLUETICKER it tells you the name of the company)
@MiningBookGuy@nobshere - please try to keep the #Armstrong posts to a minimum. I count 5 in less than 30 minutes in the #index. you can post a million of these in the #Armstrong room or #politics or various other places.
And if you want a happy medium for now, please at least do NOT include large quotes-- keep it to the link.
This is the type of stuff that's hard to ignore even on a laptop...need to scroll down to follow a conversation, and there are big blobs everywhere (*Note - I'm sometimes guilty of this as well, we can all improve!). If it's annoying for me, then it's REALLY annoying for people on mobile. #MakeIndexGreatAgain
@MiningBookGuy@Brendan - i like @stateside's original comment. i don't think you need to make it specific to 'investing. here's a partial quote again: "the more someone feels the need to impress others with his/her accomplishments, investing skills..."
there are parallels across business, investing, sports, etc.
when you say bragging about money is 'vulgar', i personally think it's just as vulgar as bragging about sports. i found it ironic that #Trump has succeeded despite many likely thinking of quotes similar to @Stateside's.
Sorry, but Ron Paul is never going to be in a position of power, even if he follows all the rules (again, not trying to make this about #politics, BUT i am trying to say there's no point in narrowing the idea to just 'money/investing')
@MarkedtofutureEX CIA Robert David Steele In Oslo – McCain, Graham, Rubio and Schumer Are All Being Blackmailed Published on Apr 3, 2017
I was invited by Mr Steele to rebroadcast this message on our channel to get the word our. There’s a lot to be said for Robert Steele’s ideas on Open Source EVERYTHING and Electoral Reform. Mr Steele also claims that Chuck Schumer, Lyndsay Graham, Marco Rubio and John McCain are being blackmailed into going along with deep state policies. #politicshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq_yWMouwLE+
@Leon@kjm - Don't rush to judgments about the sarin gas attack in Syria and losing sight of the ongoing regime changes in the region. Isn't it strange that it all comes right before the Syria conference while Assad is making headwins against ISIS and al-Quida? "The question arises what reason the Syrian government could possibly have to launch a chemical attack anywhere on its territory, gruesome pictures of which, with many child casualties, were posted soon after the attack supposedly too place. And that's where logic at least seems to break down...#..why use them on the eve of a conference where you have everything to gain?" #politics#Syria#oilwww.theautomaticearth.com/2017/04/any-of-this-sound-familiar
anonymous@Leon it does seem illogical for Assad to gas.. but then so does the Syrian explanation... that the Syrian rockets hit unknowingly the gas stockpiles of the rebels...and that caused the deaths.. bunch of malarky from both sides imo

@LeonThe Guns of August, by Barbara Tuchman in Review: "Having now read the book, it is easy to understand the sensation it created in 1962 and the reason why President Kennedy gave a copy to Prime Minister Macmillan "observing that somehow contemporary statesmen must avoid the pitfalls that led to August, 1914". If only our politicians today would consider the lessons of history in like manner." #politics#Syria#W3www.centerforfutureconsciousness.com/pdf_files/2008_Essays/A Review of The Guns of August by Barbara W.pdf >>unfortunately, I couldn't handle the weblink
@Leon"Donald Trump's decision to launch cruise missile strikes on a Syrian Air Force Base was based on a lie. In the coming days the American people will learn that the Intelligence Community knew that #Syria did not drop a military chemical weapon on innocent civilians in Idlib. Donald Trump will most likely not finish his term as President. He will be impeached, I believe, once Congress is presented with irrefutable proof that he ignored and rejected intelligence.. It should also alarm American taxpayers that we launched $100 million dollars of missiles to blow up sand and camel sh**t." ~ Colonel W. Patrick Lang, retired senior officer of U.S.Military Intelligence and U.S.Army Special Forces (The Green Berets) #politics#chaos#goldwww.globalresearch.ca/donald-trump-is-an-international-law-breaker/5584052
@Leon"Trump employing a "wag the dog" strategy, in which he highlights his leadership on an international crisis to divert attention from domestic political problems, is reminiscent of President Bill Clinton's decision to attack Serbia in 1999 as impeachment clouds were building around his sexual relationship with intern Monica Lewinsky." ~ Robert Parry #politics#gold#oilhttps://consortiumnews.com/2017/04/07/trumps-wag-the-dog-moment
@Leon"Isn't it great to keep politics out of investing - it makes it all seem so mysterious and fun! Even though pretty much all the politicians do is talk about the markets and the #economy and business - the MAYORITY of the financial news sites have cowered their authors into not talking about #politics. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. It's like trying to predict the weather but you're not allowed to discuss temperatures." ~ Philip Davis #oil#gold#copper#iron-ore#REE
@Leon"War begins by calling for the annihilation of THE OTHERS [not us, but them, because we are the good ones with the right to kill and justified to teach lessons about our value system] ..but ends ultimately in self-annihilation. It corrupts souls and mutilates bodies. It destroys homes and villages and murders children on their way to school. It grinds into the dirt all that is tender and beautiful and sacred. It empowers human deformities - warlords, Shiite death squads, Sunni insurgents, the Taliban, al-Qaida and our OWN killers - who can speak only in the despicable language of force. War is a scourge. It is industrial murder!" ~ Chris Hedges #politics#economyofwarwww.commondreams.org/views/2010/01/04/pictures-war-you-arent-supposed-see
