Exploration Insights’ (EI) is one of the world’s best performing investment newsletters.

Last year, seven of the companies covered in EI were on the receiving end of M&A events, proving their portfolio is one step ahead of major mining companies.

EI is run by Brent Cook and Joe Mazumdar, two experienced economic geologists who vet small, risky mining stocks and write about them for subscribers who pay US $140/month for a weekly issue as well as timely buy and sell email-alerts. Their newsletter stands out because it is independent (both from the influences of a large publishing house or an investment banking department) and it covers only a select few companies viewed to be the best of the best in the mining sector.

CEO.CA has enjoyed collaborating with EI on content from time to time since 2012. At large mining conferences, we like to follow them around with a camera, and see what kind of companies they like and are interested in.

At the AME BC Roundup convention in Vancouver last week, the biggest and best mining and mineral exploration conference in Western Canada, Cook and Mazumdar caught up with several CEOs and geologists from various companies.

Cook visited a porphyry project he liked in Ecuador, SolGold.

Mazumdar saw Nighhawk, Mariana, NevSun and Cordoba Minerals.

I was particularly impressed with Nighthawk's story, which I hadn't paid enough attention to previously.

The short films provide a pros look at the companies and a discussion of recent news.

The first place Cook and Mazumdar discuss their best investment ideas is in EI every Sunday. Their newsletter is a must-have idea generation and risk management tool for mining execs, institutional investors and retail speculators alike. EI has given me a steep learning curve in early stage mining investing. You should put them to work for your portfolio.
